The night the black rain fell, evil spirits began to grow across the world.
Lin Sheng, an ordinary college student, gets his neck twisted by the evil spirit outside his door while trying to save someone. When he opens his eyes again, he's back seven minutes earlier.
From that moment on, he gains the ability to resurrect without limit.
But each death isn't as simple as starting the game over.
He retains the pain he felt before dying and remembers the evil spirits' rules, but he also loses pieces of what it means to be alive: his sense of smell, his ability to feel temperature, his memories, even the ending of his mother's voice when she calls him by his childhood nickname.
While everyone else avoids death, Lin Sheng has no choice but to walk toward it again and again, stealing a way to survive from the evil spirits.
Don't answer the knock.
Don't take the lunchbox.
Don't sign the library card.
Don't confirm the last bus's destination.
When everyone treats him as a monster who can save their lives, Lin Sheng writes on the first page of the death records:
"My blood isn't medicine, and my life isn't infinite."
The evil spirits descend, and every door rings in unison.
Again and again, he must resurrect to find the rules that will truly let the living survive.
