My 26-Year-Old Qingdao Girl

“A guy should always be good to himself. You don't need to demand that she work harder or strive for success. You just hope she'll spend more time with you.”

“But if she can't even give you her company, then you need to take good care of yourself. Keep your body strong, travel across mountains and rivers, embrace all the beauty of the world, and never lose a man's boundless ambition.”

This was my first time in Qingdao.

Three months ago, my wife and I had a fight.

Her best friend's husband had bought yet another new car, while when I married her, I hadn't even been able to afford a decent betrothal gift.

It all came down to money.

Or maybe it was just petty stuff: who cooked, who washed the dishes.

She wanted money and power, while I gave up territory and paid reparations, bowing my head in submission.

The inner palace was cold and lonely, filled with endless chill and sorrow.

After that, the thought of running away took root in my mind.

All under heaven belongs to the emperor.

The land is so beautiful that countless heroes have fought to win it.

While I was still young, I wanted to hold the moon in my arms and fall asleep beside a lovely woman.

I'm no gentleman, but I've read the collected works of great leaders, and I'm no stick-in-the-mud either.
