The Years I Settled Disputes with My Martial Uncle

My name is Jiang Yiheng. I was born on the first day of the twelfth lunar month, and my element is Water.

That year, Master took me to Luoyang to settle a matter. That was when I learned I was destined to deal with the world of the dead for the rest of my life.

Tomb robbing, haunted houses, soul-calling, tree spirits, dog spirits, ghost marriages, borrowed lives...

Seven cases, the Five Elements used to pacify spirits. I traveled far and wide with my uncle-master, and watched with my own eyes as a man consumed by obsession descended step by step into the abyss.

My uncle-master said he was performing a long-overdue resurrection rite for someone, twenty years late.

But he didn’t know that person had long since ceased to be who they were back then.

My name is Jiang Yiheng. This is the story of the first half of my life.

Once some matters are settled, people can disappear too.

The sound of a blade being sharpened rang out, and life and death parted ways. Of all the matters my uncle-master and I settled in those years, the one that could never be settled was the human heart.
