The story takes place in Yuncheng, a modern first-tier city. The top circles are divided into four major chaebols: Lu, Shen, Gu, and Su. The Lu family is the top power holder, but fell into internal strife due to the poisoning of the male protagonist; the Su family is a low-level plutocrat who relies on marriage to survive.
There are two legendary anonymous bosses in the circle who have never met but have been famous for many years:
- "Jhin": A top risk control engineer, known as the "Endgame Terminator", he only takes on messes that others dare not touch. He can wipe out tens of billions of capital holes in three days and uncover the deepest business insiders. His actions are sure to succeed, and he charges sky-high prices. No one knows his gender identity.
- "Abyss": The top capital trader, known as the "Hand of the Abyss", the man behind the scenes of the Lu family, who controls the economic lifeline of half of Cloud City. He has fought with "Jin" many times, winning and losing. They are rivals, but they always hide behind the scenes.
