Yin Matchmaker: All the Ghost Brides I Match Are Vengeful Spirits

My name is Shen Qi, the seventh-generation yin matchmaker of the Shen family. Put simply, this line of work is about arranging marriages for the dead. Living people care about matching family backgrounds; the dead care about compatible birth dates and balancing resentment. Make a good match, and both families can rest easy. Make a bad one, my grandfather arranged a ghost marriage incorrectly, and the bride climbed out of her coffin and strangled him to death on the wedding bed. Twenty years ago, my parents mysteriously vanished during a ghost wedding known as the “Seven Ghosts' Bridal Procession.” My grandfather traded thirty years of his life to save mine. Before he died, he left me with one instruction: “The Shen family must never arrange another ghost marriage.” But I refused to believe in curses. I reopened the funeral shop and started taking jobs from the underworld. I handle everything: dotting the eyes of paper figures, entering the spirit world to question the dead, arranging ghost marriages, appeasing resentment... Until one day, at a ghost wedding known as “The Bridegroom Embraces the Deceased,” I heard the dead speak. “...I didn't hit her.” From then on, every ghost marriage I arranged involved a bride who was a vengeful ghost. And little by little, I began to uncover a shocking secret about the Shen family hidden behind these vengeful spirits.
