The vast cultivation world is divided into five great regions: the Eastern Domain, Western Domain, Southern Wilderness, Northern Frontier, and Central Province. The protagonist starts out in the Qinglan Dynasty, on the edge of the Eastern Domain. Cultivation civilization and secular dynasties intertwine: mortals revere cultivators, while cultivators rule over the secular world. The hierarchy is strict, and the strong prey on the weak, an eternal law. The frontier is poor in spiritual energy and resources, and is occupied only by small and mid-sized sects and clans. It is a place where low-level cultivators struggle to survive, and the starting point of the protagonist's rise.
