When the way home is sealed shut, we’ll make the Myriad Worlds pay for it with us.
Chen Mo is the only Sentinel.
He is no general, no hero.
He is a cartographer who spent twelve years studying ancient star charts. After transmigrating to another world, he found a living star chart in his mind: the original coordinates of his home, Earth, and the only hope of every transmigrator making it back.
For three years, transmigrators scattered across the Myriad Worlds have repeated the same words: “Follow the Sentinel, and you can go home.”
For three years, the coordinate analysis has crawled from 98% to 99.9%. Only the final fraction remains.
Then, in a trap set by the Shengyou Empire under the guise of “peace negotiations,” Chen Mo is publicly executed.
The coordinates are permanently locked at 99.9%. A cold System announcement erupts in the minds of every transmigrator:
“The Sentinel has fallen. The anchor is dead. The way home is forever lost.”
That day, the titles above every transmigrator’s head change from all kinds of names, from every corner of the world, to the same four words. It isn’t an official title. The System stamps the same line of blood-red text into each of their title slots:
[Stray Dogs]
He says, “I followed the rules for three years. They killed our Sentinel. There are no rules anymore.”
The transmigrators take off their badges and throw them into the bonfire.
They accept the title their new world has given them: Extraterritorial Demons.
But they choose a harsher name for themselves: the Fourth Calamity.
“Now that we’ve lost our homeland, we no longer care about right and wrong.”
“You won’t let us go home...”
“Then we’ll become your end.”
