A small county magistrate who was sent to a remote rural area had no backing and was short of money. However, with his extraordinary mind and "silly energy", he peeled off the network of official and business interests entrenched in the local area layer by layer in seemingly simple cases.
He's not an anti-corruption hero - he's just a nobody who wants to be a quiet and upright official. But the big dye vat of officialdom cannot tolerate a drop of clean water.
