[The protagonist refuses to be a doormat + a cast of ruthless characters + high-stakes power struggles + raising an empress + overwhelming advantage + one heroine]
(After recently seeing some ridiculous stories where more than thirty princes are sent off to marry for political alliances, I decided to write my own spin-off in the power-struggle genre.)
The Great Li Dynasty is utterly absurd!
To keep his beloved little princess from being sent off to marry, the emperor bundles up thirty-six princes and sends them to thirty-six neighboring tiger-and-wolf kingdoms, where they become live-in sons-in-law, hostages, and prisoners!
Zhao Yi, who transmigrated into this world, opens his eyes in a foreign court.
Before him stands a powerful minister demanding he crawl through the “dismounting rail” to humiliate his homeland. Above him sits a beautiful puppet empress with no real power.
In his arms is the poisoned wine his father, the emperor, gave him before he left the capital. A single drop is lethal.
“A discarded pawn? Cannon fodder? A human shield?”
He gives a cold laugh and tears off the red silk:
“If this world is a game, then I’ll flip the board. I’ll use these thirty-six kingdoms as my pieces, demand my father’s abdication, and send my imperial sister to her death!”
