National Fate: Slaying Delusions in the Realm of Lingering Thoughts

In 2077, Earth's resources are depleted, acid rain blankets the globe, and humanity has only ten years left to live. The Trial of the Remnant Realm opens across the heavens. Nations send their finest ordinary people to become Thought-Severing Masters, slaying delusion entities and claiming fortune. The victors can win their homelands a century of renewed life. Fang Qin is Earth's 17th envoy of fortune. She awakens her destined weapon, the Green Edge Thought-Severing Blade. No one knows she also keeps a black dagger tucked in her arms, one she picked up for 50 yuan at a street stall. Others gain ten strands of fortune for slaying one delusion. One slash from her brings a hundredfold reward. Others barely survive illusions, but she sees through to the heart of their obsessions at a glance and kills with a single strike. While every Thought-Severing Master fights desperately to ascend, Fang Qin uncovers a shocking secret: the so-called trial grounds are merely a breeding farm for the upper cultivation realms, and ascension means having the very source of your soul extracted. With two thoughts in hand, she will sever every delusion in the world. This time, she will save Earth and topple the heavens' man-eating rules!
