Pokemon: You Were Supposed to Be an Official, but You Became an Immortal Who Balances the Books

[Political intrigue + Pokemon + slow-paced + not overpowered + no female lead + not a wish-fulfillment story. There will be a relatively strong focus on the League's political machinations. The story moves at a relatively slow pace, so don't read if that's not your thing.]

Lin Xiu, a low-ranking civil servant in Viridian City, transmigrates into this world and awakens the “League Asset Optimization System.” In a corrupt, rotten League bureaucracy, how can a poor kid with no connections or resources get ahead? There's only one answer: make money!

Urban infrastructure projects? Approved! The System's balance soars every time funds pass through his hands. A company wants to build a factory in a protected area? A legal sponsorship will do nicely, and now there's money to fund Legendary Pokemon hatching! While everyone else spends their days nervously worrying about inspections, Lin Xiu uses incredibly clever falsified accounts and legal procedures to launder dirty money, then turns around and buys a Dragonite with maximum potential.

“Champion Lin, this is Team Rocket's share of the proceeds from developing Viridian Forest, offered as a token of their respect...”

“Nonsense! This is a legitimate sponsorship from a private enterprise for the League's public facilities!” Lin Xiu declared righteously as he accepted the check. “And get me a Mega Stone while you're at it. Also, have Du fly over again. I'm going to catch Giratina.”
