World Setting
In the future world of 2149, humanity's civilization has fallen into a post-apocalyptic wasteland blanketed in radioactive dust, after a century of resource-extraction wars and out-of-control nuclear fission experiments. The once-great megacity of "New Chang'an" is now little more than twisted steel skeletons piercing the gray haze. Genetically mutated "Sand Walkers" and mechanically enhanced "Iron-Shell Worms" hunt among the ruins, while survivors huddle in underground shelters reinforced with lead plates, scraping by on filtered rainwater and expired canned food.
Main Characters
Yun Chang is one of the few craftsmen in the ruins who knows how to repair prewar mechs. He spends his days tending to the third-generation "Rust Iron" mech left behind by his father. With its right shoulder armor missing and its power core exposed, this old machine is both his livelihood and his father's only surviving legacy from the Battle of the "Great Stillness," in which he died.
Yun Chang's younger sister, Yun Xi, inherited their mother's talent for mechanical engineering. She trades modified energy converters for antibiotics in the underground market. The siblings support each other in the perilous wasteland, but often argue over how best to survive: Yun Chang insists on repairing technology from the old world, while Yun Xi advocates developing new equipment suited to the wasteland.
