Dear readers, please move along. I wrote this when I was young and foolish, and it isn’t good. Don’t waste your time on it. When the apocalypse arrived, order collapsed, and the city was torn apart by monsters, waves of the undead, and rival survivor factions. Yi Fan, betrayed and abandoned in the past, binds himself to a Convenience Store System at the end of his rope and opens a supply station deep in the wasteland: “No special treatment, just rules.”
Here, crystal cores can buy food, medicine, and weapons, as well as a chance to stay alive. Here, the strong can’t steal, the wicked can’t skip their debts, and everyone has to wait in line. Old enemies come looking for supplies, rival factions bow to the rules, and the monstrous nest hidden in the city’s shadows gradually reveals its hideous form.
The arrival of Lin Mo Ran, a doctor, brings a different kind of warmth to the cold convenience store. One lays down the law in the apocalypse, while the other saves lives amid the ruins. One is clear-eyed and ruthless, the other gentle and steadfast. They join forces to seek revenge and protect each other, gradually building an order of their own amid the monster-infested, divided city.
As the southern district becomes more than just ruins, and the supply station turns into a hub no one can ignore, the wider city comes into view. Above the wasteland, the real war is only just beginning.
