2005, Changbai Mountain.
Zhang Qiling walked into the Bronze Gate and made a ten-year agreement with Wu Xie.
The next day, Wu Sansheng disappeared.
A year later, Wu Xie found the diary left by his third uncle in the basement of his old house. There is only one page in the diary with three words written on it - "Gatekeeper Clan". On the slip of paper tucked inside the back cover, there are seven place names listed. In the old photo attached next to it, two "third uncles" stand side by side.
Only then did Wu Xie realize that his third uncle had hidden more things from him for twenty years than he had imagined.
What are gatekeepers? What is hidden behind the bronze door? Is the "ten-year agreement" really just a promise? Or was it a game that Uncle San had already settled on?
In order to find the answer, in order to take Zhang Qiling out of the bronze door on August 17, 2015, Wu Xie put on the mask of his third uncle and set out with Fatty Wang to find the seven bronze fragments. From the Yelang Underground Palace in Guizhou to the mass graves in western Sichuan, from the ghost cave in western Hunan to the tomb of the Dian King in Yunnan, from the depths of the Zhang family ancient building to the Qinghai-Tibet Snow Mountain Temple - seven ancient tombs, seven fragments, each one is one step closer to the ultimate, and each step may never come back.
And the person hiding in the dark has been waiting for them for five hundred years.
What he was waiting for was not for the bronze door to open.
He was waiting for Wu Xie to open the door with his own hands.
