Do you think fairy tales are sweet? That was deleted too many times.
The Brothers Grimm cut out the dismemberment and burial alive, Disney cut out the smell of blood and rust. But those censored truths don't disappear, they become contaminated areas. Every contaminated area replays the original version of the fairy tale before it was deleted: Little Red Riding Hood is the priest of the wolves, Cinderella's glass slipper is the bone-cutting instrument, and Sleeping Beauty's spindle is the syringe.
Bai Xue is the only person who can enter the contaminated area. Because she is a vampire - fairy tales live on human "belief", but she does not.
She started traveling through the contaminated area when she was twelve years old, for a promise: to find a way to resurrect her mother, and to find her successor who disappeared in the mirror.
But the closer she gets to the truth, the more she discovers that she herself is the source of all fairy tale pollution.
