The First Female Starship Pilot

She spent ten years studying mecha, all to become the greatest in the stars.

Ling Wei, the daughter of a miner on a frontier planet, has one big dream: to pilot a real combat mecha.

But everyone tells her, "Women aren't suited for combat. Mecha aren't something women should touch."

So she chooses to join the maintenance division first, repairing mecha and studying them until she understands them better than anyone.

When raiders from the Dark Zone attack the academy and the male students in the combat division are routed, she leaps into a scrapped mecha and ends the battle in three minutes.

The entire crowd falls silent.

Instructor: "How did you do that?"

Ling Wei: "I've repaired this mecha. I know every screw in it."

From a mocked female mechanic to the top female mecha pilot, feared by all three branches of the military,

she did just one thing:

made everyone who looked down on her shut up.
