I Used AI to Set Up My Blind Dates and Made My Future Mother-in-Law Cry

My name is Chen Yu'an. I’m 35, unemployed, in debt, and delivering food.

To get through a matchmaking date, I made an AI to chat on my behalf.

I just wanted to be lazy for once.

I never expected it to make my future mother-in-law cry on the very first day.

And that was the end of me.

I said I didn’t have a job, and she said I was taking time to find myself.

I said I had no savings, and she said I’d spent it all on my father’s recovery, which showed I was responsible.

I said I delivered food, and she said continuing to work through hard times showed a man’s mettle.

The more I tried to explain, the more she liked me.

Even more absurdly, she wanted to invest in my AI.

But there was one problem: the female lead, Jiang Zhixia, was starting to get suspicious.

The me in her WeChat messages was like a spring breeze. The real me was like a steamed bun that hadn’t thawed yet.

Then one day, she took off my earphones.

“Chen Yu'an, don’t let the AI talk tonight.”
