When she was sixteen years old, she picked up a six-year-old child at the foot of the mountain. He was huddled under the tree, thin and timid, holding on to the corner of her clothes and refusing to let go.
Those were troubled times. There was war on the border and famine spread across the land. Two helpless people struggled to survive on half a piece of coarse grain cake and a few handfuls of wild vegetables.
She thought she was raising a younger brother. But he said: "I have never only regarded you as my sister."
Some people say that they are shameless siblings who live together. She didn't defend herself. She just said to him calmly on an ordinary night: "If our relationship is solid, it won't be regarded as a loss of personal ethics."
Some people wanted to see him go through hard work and perish, so they transferred him to the poorest and most chaotic county. He didn't complain, and it only took him three years to turn a mess into a model.
He asked her: "Why are you so nice to me?"
She said: "If you live well, I will live well."
She watched him grow up and he grew old with her. From the wilderness to the court, from siblings to husband and wife.
