Summer cicadas buzzed noisily as transfer student Su Ningning stepped into her new classroom and unexpectedly stumbled into a tender encounter of youth. There she met Xu Shuyan, the gentle, cool-headed top student admired by the whole school. With refined features and a clean, composed air, he treated everyone with warmth and restraint. A faint smile from him was enough to soothe her nervousness at being new.
But Su Ningning had no idea that this exceptionally gentle Xu Shuyan was the little boy who had been trapped with her in the ruins during a fire years ago, and with whom she had found mutual salvation. A childhood bond sealed away in the past lay hidden in old days known to no one.
Her peaceful school life was suddenly thrown into disarray. Jiang Wang, her classmate, was arrogant and brash, unruly and obsessive. He was her adoptive brother, with no blood ties between them. Every day, he picked fights with her and made things difficult, never letting up with his cold, cutting remarks. Yet whenever someone else bullied her, he would risk everything to step in and shield her from all harm.
A gentle, reserved childhood friend bound to her by fate,
An obsessive, prickly brother whose love is forbidden,
Three people caught in the whirlpool called youth, pulling at one another, testing one another, and keeping secrets.
The warmth of the old fire has not yet faded, and feelings from youth are quietly taking root.
As the sealed past is gradually uncovered, a love buried for years finally breaks through the earth.
After all the twists and turns, through all the years,
Su Ningning will at last find her way to the salvation meant for her.
