He awakens the [Lazybones, National Destiny-Binding System]. As long as he sleeps and drinks tea on schedule every day and avoids doing any real work, he can get incredible rewards through sign-in.

To coast through life and enjoy a peaceful existence, Zhu Su acts crazy and foolish in public and never says a word at court.

Everyone thinks the fifth prince is useless.

Until Xu Miaoyun, the eldest daughter of Xu Da, awakens the ability to [Hear Inner Thoughts]!

“Old Zhu’s killed someone again. Good thing I’m playing dumb, or I’d be next on the chopping block.”

“What? You want me to marry Xu Miaoyun? That woman’s way too smart. How am I supposed to keep a low profile if I marry her? No, no, I won’t do it!”

“Potatoes can yield three thousand jin per mu. Too bad I can’t say that out loud, or I’ll have to work…”

“The principles behind the steam engine are actually pretty simple… Forget it, thinking about this too much will cost me lazybones points.”

After hearing all that, Xu Miaoyun was beside herself.

How could this prince be useless? He was clearly an unparalleled genius of the Ming Dynasty!

And so

In the Golden Throne Hall, Xu Miaoyun drew her sword and demanded marriage: “Your Majesty! I will marry no one but the Prince of Wu! If you refuse, I’ll spill my blood right here!”

Zhu Yuanzhang was stunned. “The fifth boy? That fool who sleeps all day?”

Zhu Su was losing it. “Big sis, are you sick? I’m a lazybones! Do you even know what that means?”

After their wedding,

Xu Miaoyun was a virtuous princess to the outside world, but at home she was a strict wife who wielded a whip to force her husband to improve himself.

To get out of work, Zhu Su was forced to invent potatoes, cement, the steam engine…

The Ming Dynasty’s national strength soared, and Old Zhu couldn’t stop grinning.

Zhu Su sat on the dragon throne in tears. “All I ever wanted was to be a lazybones!”
