Lin Xiao is reborn as the vicious supporting woman in a period novel.
The System says, “You must cling to the male lead and marry him, or you’ll be punished.”
Soon, everyone in the commune knows that Gu Beichen has a crazy woman who cries and begs to marry him every day.
Gu Beichen thinks she’s an embarrassment. He feeds her meals to the dog, spills her water on the ground, and wishes he could kick her off the planet.
Lin Xiao doesn’t care, because what she gets up to behind his back is even “crazier”:
She trades foreign exchange certificates, takes over the supply and marketing cooperative, and buys up bankrupt factories…
Before she knows it, she’s the youngest businesswoman in the province.
Everyone thinks Gu Beichen will dump this “crazy woman” sooner or later.
Then one day, Gu Beichen corners her against a wall, his eyes red as he says,
“You wanted to marry me, didn’t you? I agree.”
Lin Xiao pushes him away. “Sorry, I’m not interested in you anymore.”
Gu Beichen: “…”
