Lin Bei is 22 and has just graduated from college. Before he even has a chance to look for a job, he receives an unexpected “job offer”: take part in the hit family livestream variety show Baby, Charge Ahead with his five-year-old little sister, Lin Guoguo.
The production team originally invited Lin Bei's celebrity cousin, but she backed out at the last minute. To avoid paying the cancellation fee, Lin Bei is forced to fill in.
The rules: Five families set out from Beijing, travel through three cities, and complete all kinds of tasks, with the entire journey livestreamed 24 hours a day.
The other guests:
· Popular actress Su Ran and her daughter, raised under an elite education system
· Former national soccer player Zhao Tiejun and his son, trained at a sports school
· Tycoon Wang Jianguo and his twins, raised by their nanny
· Influencer mom Chen Meimei and her overprotected daughter
Everyone assumes Lin Bei will be the first to get eliminated. How could a 22-year-old kid possibly take good care of a five-year-old?
But after the show goes live, things gradually go off the rails:
· While the other parents fly first class with their kids, Lin Bei takes Guoguo on a hard-seat train and teaches her to play Fight the Landlord
· While the other parents prepare fancy children's meals, Lin Bei takes Guoguo to a rural banquet and packs up the leftovers
· While the other parents tell bedtime stories, Lin Bei gives her a condensed version of The Ring (the System flags it as a violation)
· While the other parents struggle to help with homework, Lin Bei uses game logic to teach math: “The monster has five HP. You deal two damage. How many more hits do you need?”
At first, the comments are full of complaints:
“Is there something wrong with this brother?”
“Poor Guoguo, stuck with a guardian like him!”
“Could the production team really not find anyone else?”
