Pure White Prison

In the sixth year after he was committed to a psychiatric hospital, someone finally came along who was willing to believe him. But beneath this hospital lies a truth more terrifying than madness.

Lin Shen is twenty-four and has spent six years in the psychiatric ward at Ren'an Hospital. He can see things other people can't. The doctors call it delusional disorder, and his father calls it an embarrassment, then throws him into this pure white prison and never looks back.

Lu Qingyao is a newly arrived resident physician. She doesn't mock him or shy away. She simply asks, "If the things you see really exist, what would you do?"

But Ren'an Hospital is no ordinary hospital. It was built on a mass grave that is four hundred years old: a mass execution site from the Ming dynasty, an execution ground from the Qing dynasty, and a Japanese military killing ground. Beneath every layer of the foundation lie bones. And the dead are slowly, inexorably, crawling upward.

Some prisons are made of iron, and some are white. But the most terrifying prison is the world that tells you, "You're crazy."
