Her Tropical Monsoon

Yan Xi was a good girl.

So good that she never cried, never made a fuss, and never caused anyone any trouble.

So good that everyone thought she would be just fine on her own.

Only Xiao Yi didn't think so.

He had seen Yan Xi with red-rimmed eyes, saying, “Morning.”

He had heard her answering a call in the stairwell. The voice on the other end said, “Happy birthday, Xixi,” and she replied to the empty air, “It's okay.”

Xiao Yi stood in the hallway, listening to Yan Xi's muffled voice, his knuckles clenched white.

So there really was a kind of heartache that traveled straight from the ears to the heart.

“Her world had no seasons, until he brought her a warm tropical monsoon.”
