The Knife-Seller's Ledger

Some old objects were never meant to be repaired. They are meant to settle old debts of cause and effect.

Su Huaigu holds the ancestral ledger of debts for borrowed knives and has inherited a special craft: repairing objects imprinted with traces of the past and settling the old debts left unresolved behind them.

A Republican-era bone tweezer, an old Seagull camera, a yellowed account book. One eerie commission after another comes knocking, gradually exposing secrets from his parents’ generation that had been buried for twenty years.

Every old object conceals an unsolved case, and every time he takes action, he gambles with his own fate.

Life and death are fated; debts must be repaid. When the last page of the ledger is turned, he discovers that he has long been the most crucial collateral in the whole scheme.
