History is an abyssal sea, and the years a long river. We are all boats adrift upon them.
The sea has its depths, the river its currents. A boat may be carried or capsized. Is it all truly determined by fate? We do not believe in the will of some unseen heaven. We believe only in the deeds of humankind. Today, we make this solemn vow: we will give our lives, our bodies, and our souls to defy the fickle hand of destiny.
May the vast sea remain calm, may the waves remain gentle, and may the boat of time sail on forever!
