Luo Shixin: Sweeping Through the Sui and Tang Dynasties with His Staff

The year his family fell apart, he watched through a crack in the door as his father fell to his knees.

There was nothing he could do.

He wandered, begged, and was beaten. He thought this was how his life would be forever.

Until a man named Qin Qiong found him in a ruined temple and said, “Come with me.”

At last, he had a home. A mother. An older brother. A place at the dinner table.

Lai Huer took Mother Qin prisoner?

He stormed the military inspector’s residence alone, shattered a blade with one punch, and crippled Lai Huer’s right hand.

“My whole family was sentenced to death… I’ve lived through that once already. I won’t watch it happen again.”

Yuwen Chengdu is advancing with a massive army?**

He smashed the phoenix-wing gilt halberd with a single blow, then crouched beside the last Heavenly Treasure General of the Sui Dynasty and placed the weapon back in his hands.

“Your halberd is heavy. I’ll leave it here for you.”

Everyone says he is the Tang Dynasty’s greatest warrior.

But all he wants is to go home.

To go home and eat Mother Qin’s cooking, to hear Qin Qiong call him “Shixin,” to sit beneath that jujube tree.

Then he met Li Yuanba

A small, gaunt child with empty eyes, like a vessel filled with the power to destroy.

He “saw” the emptiness inside Li Yuanba.

Beneath that emptiness was a child just like him, waiting for someone to come and take him home.

His hands began to tremble.

If no one had come to get him from that ruined temple back then

Would he have turned out the same way?
