The main background of the story is divided into two parts: the first is ordinary cities and small counties in mainland China, depicting the employment pressure, family burden and class dilemma faced by contemporary young people, which is the starting point of Lin Yue's tragedy; the second is the fictional "KK Park" in northern Myanmar, a lawless place jointly constructed by local armed forces, transnational criminal groups and corrupt officials. There is a strict hierarchy in the park, divided into "piglets" (low-level victims), "dog pushers" (low-level managers), "supervisors" and "armed leaders". There are no laws here, only dark rules of profiteering, violence and commodification of the population. Geographically, the park is surrounded by tropical rainforest, with high walls, power grids, and dense surveillance systems, and is isolated from the outside world. In terms of power, it involves "snakeheads" in China, local warlords, transnational fraud groups and organ trafficking networks, forming a huge and secretive black industry chain. The core of this worldview is that there is only a thin line between light and darkness, and hell is often disguised as the entrance to heaven.
