Under the gray-purple sky, corpses covered the entire wasteland.
Lin Mo lay in the eye socket of one of the corpses, his fist-sized gray-white body exuding the sweet smell of decay. His ring-shaped mouthparts are grinding slowly, digesting the remaining memory fragments of the last "food" - sequence, awakener, promotion, sacrifice, outer god.
This world is ruled by "Sequence". From Sequence 9 to Sequence 0, every promotion means one step closer to the indescribable Outer God. The Brain Eater is at the bottom of this system - a pest that doesn't even have a sequence, and is only worthy of lingering in a pile of corpses.
But Lin Mo was different.
His body is a bug, but his brain is a doctor of brain science. Deep in his soul is engraved the knowledge of another world - about how memories are encoded, about how consciousness is stored, about how to retain the integrity of oneself while absorbing the memories of others.
Every time he is promoted, there will be an extra blank personality slot in his consciousness.
While other Sequencers were still carefully worshiping foreign gods and praying for gifts, Lin Mo was already using his own way to climb to the top of the world step by step.
He will eat all enemies in his way, remember their memories, inherit their abilities, and then - become a being that even the outer gods cannot ignore.

It's a really good novel. It's slow and seems smooth and not tiring.
The writing is very good. It would be better if there were pictures.
