Zhang Ruilin takes over the keepsake-restoration studio his parents left behind and unexpectedly awakens an inherited bloodline gift: by touching a deceased person’s most treasured possession, he can witness their entire life and inherit all the skills they mastered at their peak.
An old doctor’s acupuncture kit turns him into a master physician, able to save the dying with three needles;
A retired special forces soldier’s medal turns him into a king of combat, capable of sweeping away thugs;
An undercover agent’s recorder lets him see through every crime, identify the true culprit, and bring peace to a fallen hero’s soul;
For everyone else, sorting through keepsakes means clearing up after the dead. For him, it means giving the departed a voice, fulfilling their unfinished wishes, and uncovering long-buried truths.
From a little shop on the verge of closing to the nationally renowned Nian Gui Tang, Zhang Ruilin has witnessed every facet of human life and protected the final dignity of countless departed souls.
Until one day, among a collection of keepsakes, he sees the whole truth about his parents’ deaths in a car crash…
