Two lifetimes of longing, one lifetime of terror.
At 42, Qi Zhaochen, a single mother and professor with two PhDs, unexpectedly transmigrates into the body of a seventeen-year-old girl in ancient times, poor and forced to disguise herself as a man. Her origins are shrouded in mystery, and her fate is full of twists and turns. Then she meets the love of her life: Yun Shuhan, the nineteen-year-old Marquis of Changxin, poisoned by a rare toxin and so consumed by love that he is left insecure and broken.
With her soul and body at odds, how can she overcome the barriers between them and love the person before her? Suspicion sweeps over them like a tide. From a shocking incident at an inn to a misunderstanding behind the bed curtains, the two grow together as they face one challenge after another.
Xiao Jinye, a prince of the Northern Di, falls for her at first sight. He hides his obsessive thoughts in a secret chamber and even gets caught up in the struggle for the throne, all to seize her and keep her in his grasp.
With her modern knowledge and wisdom, and the calm, steady nature of a middle-aged woman, she navigates a world of drawn blades and political intrigue.
She heads to Great Xia to investigate her origins, only to have the twenty-one-year-old crown prince chase after her, calling her Mom. One absurd mix-up follows another, until Nangong Yu is gravely injured saving her, revealing a birthmark. Then her nephew, who transmigrated here, unlocks the sealed memories of her past life!
In her previous life, deep love was not enough to overcome ill-fated circumstances, and regret ended in bones. This time, she refuses to lose to fate again. She will protect the one she loves and carve out a way for them both to survive.
No System, no pocket dimension. A little sweet at first, then the sugar levels go off the charts around chapter eighty!
The writing of this book is good, relatively mature, and the writing is relatively delicate. The plot is logical and interlocking. It is full of interesting points and has relatively high readability. I personally feel that this book is more suitable for being made into a TV series!
It was such a surprise to see a living creature among the many time-traveling imperial examination articles. The plots of the story are intertwined and there are endless exciting scenes. The author also thoughtfully popularized a lot of knowledge and treasures. The twists and turns of the foreshadowing are wonderful, funny, refreshing, and very logical. The later chapters are more exciting. It is rare to find such an intelligent book among a bunch of low-intelligence articles. [Please update] The author must keep updating. I like it.
There are a lot of foreshadowings in the early stage, which will be gradually revealed later, and different maps will be opened. It is not a sweet pet story, but a group portrait growth, strong power plotting, not a regular old plot, fresh plot settings, biological blessings, misplaced emotions, and lots of suspense.
The plot of the story is full of ups and downs, and the characters are very three-dimensional. I kept following the updates and found that the author wonderfully incorporated knowledge into each chapter. I learned a lot while reading the story. The author is very helpful.
I've listened to a few chapters, and it's good. Both the writing and the storyline are quite in-depth. Although it's a time-travel novel, it's not mindless and fun. It's readable. I'll keep reading for more!
