Light Rises from Ashen Soil: A Haven in the Turbulent 1940s

In 2386, Earth's ecosystem collapses completely. Scorching heat ravages the planet year-round, life vanishes from the surface, and temperatures above 50 degrees become humanity's new normal. The survivors retreat to isolated underground cities, clinging to life with advanced technology. There are no grains, fruits, or vegetables, no signs of nature; people subsist on cold nutrient solutions for their entire lives. The harsh environment gives rise to countless people with supernatural abilities. Wen Ke, who possesses rare earth, wood, and fire abilities, is one of them. During a routine shopping trip, an extreme heatwave breaches her protection, and she suddenly dies of heatstroke.

In a single instant, her soul crosses more than four centuries and arrives in 1940, amid the flames of the War of Resistance Against Japan. The original owner's life was tragic. Her honest, hardworking parents were forced to work as laborers for a local tyrant who served as village head. After they accidentally discovered his secret stash of cultural relics, he had them brutally murdered to silence them. Her cowardly grandparents, egged on by the greedy family of her eldest uncle, cruelly drive the three orphaned siblings out of their home. In a turbulent time of Japanese invaders and rampant bandits, the original owner has nowhere to turn. She can only take her twin younger siblings, a boy and a girl, and hide in the mountains. Day after day, they gather medicinal herbs and hunt small game, then go down the mountain to trade for coarse grain and salt, barely surviving in forests teeming with wild beasts. Eventually, while returning from a trip, she is chased by a wild boar and falls off a cliff. That is how Wen Ke, from the post-apocalyptic era, is reborn in her body. She retains all three of her supernatural abilities, and the entire underground shopping mall where she died transforms into a pocket dimension she can carry with her, packed with supplies.

With her knowledge of modern history, a trove of supplies in her pocket dimension, and extraordinary abilities, she proceeds carefully, outwits evil gentry, and avenges her parents' murders. Relying on her powers for protection and her foresight, she repels Japanese raids, kills traitorous collaborators, and wipes out the scourge of bandits...
