My name is Xiao Qingxuan. I'm twenty-two years old.
While other people my age are looking for work, my job is dealing with ghosts.
My grandfather, Xiao Yuanshan, was a folk yin-yang master. Before he died, he left me half of the Mysterious Truth Records and a jade pendant. From that day on, I inherited the title of the Xiao family's thirty-second generation successor, along with the secrets no one was meant to know.
My father, Xiao Hai, disappeared when I was very young. Some say he's dead, others say he was kidnapped. But while investigating the Heavenly Demon Cult, I discovered that he might still be alive.
My name is Su Jiuer. I'm an eight-hundred-year-old nine-tailed fox demon.
A hundred years ago, righteous cultivators joined forces to wipe out the fox clan, leaving its members dead or scattered. I hid in the ruins of Qingqiu, waiting for a chance to take revenge.
Then I met him.
He's a yin-yang master, and I'm a fox demon. By all rights, we should be enemies. But fate does love playing such tricks.
The Heavenly Demon Cult is secretly gathering the cores of ancient demons, trying to break down the boundary between humans and demons and create an army of half-demons.
My origins, his missing father, the fox clan massacre a hundred years ago... Every clue points in the same direction.
And he and I are destined to face this storm together.
But humans and demons are worlds apart. How far can we go?
