When the Policy Lapsed, the Capital's Crown Prince Knelt and Begged to Renew It

After three years of marriage, Lu Yanzhou asked me to buy insurance for the woman he’d always loved.

I smiled and signed the policy, then bought an accident insurance policy for myself, naming him as the beneficiary.

He didn’t know that his first love was his therapist, and I was a hunter investigating his father.

On the day we divorced, I said, “Lu Yanzhou, do you know why I married you? It wasn’t for love. It was for evidence.”

Later, he knelt and begged me to renew our arrangement. I pulled out a love insurance policy. “One year at a time. If you don’t measure up, I’ll cancel it.”

He signed. Every year, he signed again.

But even to the very end, I never said, “I love you.”

Still, every year, I signed my name on his contract.
