[Western fantasy + unhinged empress + princes competing in a battle royale + multiple heroines]
That night, Lillias led Adrian into a secret chamber.
His portraits covered every wall. She professed her love and promised him power and wealth. Adrian had only two words for her: “Disgusting.”
The next day, an order sending thirty princes abroad to marry was announced throughout the capital. Acting as regent, Lillias claimed that “Leon has only one princess” and packed off all thirty princes to marry into other countries.
Adrian, who had rejected her, received “special treatment”: she sent him to the bitterly cold Northern Frontier to marry the Thorn family's neglected second daughter.
One was a handsome prince fallen on hard times; the other, a timid girl everyone overlooked. On this frozen wasteland ravaged by cold snaps and frost wraiths, an inconspicuous orb-like relic opened the Idle Cat Trading Platform, which spanned countless worlds. It also became the key to his revenge.
Lillias, however, still knew nothing of this.
Every day, she received reports from her chamberlain:
“Your Majesty, the twenty-seventh prince… can't hold out much longer.”
Lillias paused as she marked up a memorial and sneered. “I see. Let him suffer. Tell me when he begs for mercy.”
“Your Majesty, the twenty-seventh prince wants to beg for mercy.”
Lillias's lips curled into a faint smile. “Giving in now? Too late. Wait until he crawls here to beg me in person.”
“Something's wrong, Your Majesty!” The chamberlain rushed in, trembling. “The twenty-seventh prince… he's finished off the other twenty-nine princes. Now he's coming for us.”
Lillias's expression changed drastically. “What did you say?!”
This is a very beautifully written novel. The background is the feudal period of Western Europe and the feudal kings and vassals. It combines magic and other races. The early stage gives people a Shakespearean drama style, and the realistic places are not realistic. In short, it has a particularly Western fantasy flavor.
