In the last years of the Great Yuan Dynasty, there was a village deep in the Wuliang Mountains at the junction of the three provinces of Yunnan, Tibet, and Myanmar, called Aka Village. The village is built in a valley with an altitude of 1,800 feet. It is surrounded by mountains on three sides and faces cliffs on one side. The terrain is extremely dangerous. There are 327 people living in the village, with Daoyan as the village leader, who is in charge of sacrifices, land and punishments. The people of the village believe in the ancestral precepts and abide by the old rules. They do not marry outsiders and do not easily allow outsiders to enter the village. They believe that Feng Shui determines life and death, fortunes and misfortune can be determined by facial expressions, and fate can be changed with a move of the compass. But this place was originally an auspicious place for the four spirits to guard. It was backed by Wofo Ridge and faced the Kongque River. It was expected that the population would be prosperous and the animals would be safe. But in the past three months, the children in the village have been crying at night, the livestock have died suddenly, the well water has smelled fishy, and even the flames in the fire pit have turned green. The villagers didn't say anything, didn't ask, didn't watch, they just closed their doors before Haishi, and no one dared to move around after dark.
The accident started with a stone. Thirty years ago, the father of Daoyan, the leader of the village, took people into the mountains to hunt elephants and found half a stone statue under a cliff. The stone statue is neither Buddha nor Taoism. It has a multi-horned head and a tambourine in its hand. The base is engraved with foreign characters that are slippery and difficult to read. The leader of the old village ordered people to carry it back to the village and offer it to the back mountain cave, calling it the "treasure of the village." That night, a pregnant cow gave birth to a dead calf with six legs. A midwife went crazy and repeatedly chanted "It's awake." The old village leader ordered the cave to be sealed and it was strictly forbidden to mention the stone statue again. For the next twenty years, the village was peaceful. Until this year's full moon night, the sound of drums came from the ground, like a heartbeat, one after another, lasting all night long. The compass failed, the chickens and dogs did not crow, and the village guards saw shadows moving in the fog at the lookout, but there were no footprints on the ground. Daoyan sent someone to ask for a fortune teller...
