In 1987, a fire in Daxinganling burned four wordless stone tablets. An archaeologist followed the coordinates pointed by the stone tablets and went deep into the virgin forest. Accompanied by a descendant of an Oroqen hunter and a retired surveying and mapping soldier, he stepped into a door that had not been closed since the Northern Wei Dynasty. The mountain does not speak, but the stone monuments, fires, missing persons, and underground voices all speak for it.
