National Fate Survival: I Study Medicinal Herbs and Scrape By in the Forest

(National Destiny Game, herbalism, farming, exploration, wilderness survival.) The day the National Destiny Game arrived, Zhang Zhi was drying medicinal herbs in his backyard. Global livestreams began, and each country randomly selected one chosen player to send into the wilderness. If they survived, resources were returned to their homeland a hundredfold. If they died, their country's land sank beneath the sea. The White Eagle Nation's fitness instructor was gored off a cliff by a wild boar on the third day. A city office worker from Gaul drank untreated water and died of dehydration. The comments were filled with cries of despair. Zhang Zhi was dropped into a tropical rainforest stretching as far as the eye could see. No System, no enhancements, just an empty canteen. He crouched down, picked a leaf, sniffed it, chewed it, then spat it out. Comments floated by: “What is he eating?” “Grass?” “That's perilla. It dispels dampness.” Some time later, the chosen player from Sakura Nation developed a high fever from an infected wound. Zhang Zhi mashed up some herbs and applied them. A hunter from the Bear Nation was bitten by a venomous snake in the desert, and Zhang Zhi found an antidote root near an oasis. Another comment appeared: “That guy from Dragon Nation seems to be a traditional Chinese medicine practitioner.” Viewers around the world gradually realized that while everyone else was fighting for their lives in the wilderness, he was gathering herbs and treating patients. And the truth about “the will to survive,” hidden deep within the System, was only just beginning to come to light.
