From the Start, I Beheaded a General at Desheng Gate, and Chongzhen Begged Me to Be His Brother

Xie Peng, a modern-day special forces soldier, transmigrates to the second year of the Chongzhen reign, during the Ji-Si Incident, when Huang Taiji’s army of a hundred thousand surrounds Beijing. He starts out in a desperate situation: the capital garrison has collapsed, Man Gui is surrounded, and Desheng Gate is on the brink of falling. Xie Peng rides out of the city alone. Amid the enemy’s vast ranks, he beheads the Bordered Yellow Banner’s Niru Ejen, seizes the White Banner’s Jiala Ejen’s white horse, and fells Huang Taiji’s great standard at the center of his army. One battle makes him a legend. Chongzhen summons him to an audience at the platform and is astonished by his talent, granting him an unprecedented appointment as a Deputy Commissioner of the Embroidered Uniform Guard. In his hands, thirty-seven fleeing soldiers become the Dark Edge, a shadow unit that slips into enemy camps on moonless, stormy nights and kills without a sound. Outside Yongding Gate, Man Gui falls in battle. Clutching his body and carrying the bloodstained general’s banner, Xie Peng sets off for Liaodong with thirty-seven blades tempered by fire. He will kill the Tatars Man Gui could not finish off. He will travel three thousand li to the Liao River, and will not return until Liaodong is conquered.
