The Blood Sacrifice of the Strange Village

This story started with an idea: What kind of horror doesn't rely on gore and jump scares, but relies on the word "voluntary"? We've seen so many horror stories – monsters, ghosts, killings, screams. Readers are used to trembling in the dark, used to being rescued by the protagonist at the last moment, and used to the happy ending of "good defeats evil". But I wanted to write a different thriller. It's not the monster chasing you, but you walking towards the trap; it's not being forced to sacrifice, it's you taking the initiative to say "I do". Thrillers are not scary for the sake of being scary. It is so that when we face fear, we can still find that little bit of light that refuses to go out. The protagonist of this story, Shen Ye, has been found. Hope we can all find it.
