After losing his job and returning to his hometown, Zhu Chen is dismissed as useless. That is, until he opens his grandfather's old wooden chest and finds a talisman bearing the decree of the Northern Emperor Ziwei, setting him on the path of cultivation with the yin-yang eyes he was born with. Other people run from vengeful ghosts; he runs after them! With the Heart Ape in his left hand to exorcise demons and the Wood Mother in his right to subdue spirits, he even has a beautiful nurse as his cultivation partner.
