Don't Break the Rules of Everyday Life, Unless You're Yang Hui

The night my girlfriend dumped me, I received the Rules of Death.

My ex said, “You’re just another overworked wage slave. You’re not good enough for me.”

I laughed. She had no idea the rules had already chosen me.

Crouch when the lights go out. Don’t enter when the elevator stops. Finish your takeout in three minutes.

Break any rule, and you die.

But I’m not here to follow the rules.

I’m here to rewrite them.

From getting dumped to becoming an urban legend,

I use my brains to turn the tables on every supernatural horror.

The day my ex begged me to take her back,

I was rewriting fate at the heart of the rules.

She said, “Yang Hui, I was wrong.”

Without looking back, I replied, “I’ll decide the next rule.”
