Lin Du, a graduate student in the Department of General History, sneaked into the archaeological restricted area late at night in order to investigate the mystery of his mentor's disappearance. When he touched the jade in the coffin in a newly unearthed Tang Dynasty tomb, his consciousness was instantly dragged into the dark abyss.
When he "wakes up" again, he has become an ancient corpse in a coffin - Li Xuanxi, the last prince of the Dashun Dynasty.
Thousands of years ago, the prince was buried alive on the edge of the imperial mausoleum due to a palace coup. Before his death, he used his blood and essence to perform forbidden arts, sealing away thousands of resentments in his body. Thousands of years later, when the modern soul took over this incorruptible body, Lin Du discovered in horror:
He can consciously shuttle between ancient corpses and modern bodies, and every time he returns to reality, the strange existence in the tomb will "seep out" with him. What's even more terrifying is that there are invisible things "eating" in the darkness every night in the tomb. The exquisite murals on the tomb walls will distort into real horrific scenes under the moonlight...
In order to find out the truth and break the curse, Lin Du had to deal with two eras and two identities. During the day, he is an ordinary graduate student, and at night, he is the prince in the coffin, exploring forbidden knowledge deep in the ancient tomb. But as the investigation deepens, he gradually uncovers a secret more terrifying than death: the tomb itself is a huge seal. And his ancient corpse happens to be the core of the seal - what is really imprisoned in the tomb are the resentful souls of the "deceitful" monks who once almost overturned the world.
When the modern archaeological team decided to fully excavate the tomb, Lin Du knew that the seal was about to loosen. Should he continue to hide his identity, or risk exposing himself and the secrets of the tomb? The person who buried the prince alive back then was not his political enemy, but his most trusted national advisor.

I really want to blow this one up! I picked it up casually, but ended up staying up all night to read it! The scene where the male protagonist broke into a tomb in the rainy night to find his mentor was directly involved in my experience. The horror in the coffin, the symbiosis of two souls, and the unveiling of the thousand-year-old plan were layered. It was full of horror but the whole process was fun. The male protagonist's IQ was not that of a saint. He really got more and more excited as he watched. For lovers of tomb robbing and supernatural beings, close your eyes and rush!
