Mount Buzhou crumbles, and heaven and earth lie in ruins; water and fire rage, chilling the world with calamity.
A thousand years of karma gather like shattered jade; in a single moment, I transmigrate into the Investiture of the Gods.
Shi Ji bears a grievance and cannot return to heaven; Caiyun died unjustly, her bones not yet cold.
Do not dismiss a child as lowly and insignificant: this heart dares defy the immortal sects!
In the ancient war between water and fire, Gonggong crashed into Mount Buzhou in fury. A dying young demon was secretly saved by the immortal Yunxiao, sowing a bond that would endure for a thousand years. In the modern age, young Bi Yun joined an archaeological team excavating an ancient Zhou Dynasty tomb. He accidentally cut his fingertip on a shard of ancient jade, and in an instant, time reversed and his soul fell into the chaos of the Investiture of the Gods.
When he opened his eyes again, he had become Bi Yun, the “unlucky child” named on the Investiture of the Gods. His chest was wounded, and his playmate, the Child Immortal Caiyun, had already been shot dead by an arrow. The enormous boulder blocking his way turned out to be his benefactor and teacher, Madam Shi Ji, forced to her death by the Chan Sect and transformed into stone.
Bearing the memories of two lifetimes and a boundless hatred, Bi Yun takes the spirit stone formed from his master and sets out on the path of revenge. The Chan Sect claims to be the rightful heir of Heaven’s Way, yet slays demons and exorcises evil by any means. The Jie Sect has been framed, and its disciples are being slaughtered. He was only an insignificant young Daoist, but now carries an ancient remnant soul and a heaven-defying opportunity.
He will not submit to fate, kneel before the immortal sects, or shy away from calamity. Watch as the little Bi Yun, insignificant though he may be, upends the entire Investiture of the Gods, defies fate, avenges his master, and clears her name. In the chaotic Primordial Era, where immortals abound, he will forge a heaven-defying path for the remnants of the Jie Sect!
