The Life of Man Cang

A Life of Zhou Manchang and the Rise and Fall of His Family

Main storyline: After his older brother and sister-in-law pass away, Zhou Manchang shoulders the burden of the family. Through poverty and hardship, and the warmth and coldness of human nature, he raises his family and watches the times change. As the family grows and their lives improve, they face conflict and separation. In the end, he fulfills his brother and sister-in-law's wishes, sees the younger generation find their footing, and reaches the end of his own life. Three threads run through the story and intertwine to connect every plotline: Zhou Manchang's sense of responsibility and steadfastness, the family's hardships and hopes, and the changes of the times and their impact.
