[Survive in the cracks between worlds + find treasure chests + fish for sea monsters + silver-marked spirit fox + base-building and frontier exploration + feel-good story with no romance]
Welcome to the cracks between worlds.
Beginner protection period: 72 hours.
Complete the beginner quest and build your shelter.
System notification: There is no room for luck in the cracks between worlds. Those who huddle in place and cling to their defenses will eventually be swallowed by danger. We favor only the brave.
When Lin Wan wakes after falling into the sea, there's no boat or companion beside her, only an unfamiliar deserted island and a survival System that lags like it's about to give out.
Drift crates contain supplies, but they may also attract monsters.
There is life-giving water, but also danger lurking beside it.
The System says upgrading the shelter will take twenty minutes, but only reveals the countdown at the last moment:
Beginner protection remaining: 21 minutes, 12 seconds.
The monsters outside the door are already awake.
On the forums, players are crying for help.
By the second day, nearly half the players have vanished from the online list.
Lin Wan survives.
The next day, while others are too afraid to leave their homes because of the shadows in the forest, she upgrades her wooden cabin, lights a bonfire, discovers hidden rules, and rescues a mutated snow fox with snow-white fur and shimmering silver markings.
The little fox is beautiful, but difficult to care for.
From that day on, surviving on the deserted island becomes a game of dodging pitfalls, played by one girl and one fox.
The System blocks her talent?
She fights her way out on her own.
The System says there's no solution?
She finds her own medicine and risks her own life.
The System says a dangerous area is not recommended?
Lin Wan glances at the silver markings glowing on Xiaobai.
Got it.
There's good stuff in there.
Later, sea fog rolls ashore, and sea monsters sing in the waves.
Everyone covers their ears and runs for their lives.
Lin Wan grips her fishing rod and looks down at Xiaobai.
“Can I catch that thing?”
Welcome to the cracks between worlds.
Good luck, survivor.
It's well written, but some of the logic is really buggy. The first is to upgrade the materials for the shelter, which means there is a rare material and a bunch of ordinary materials, and then the protagonist goes directly to find the rare materials. It is known that rare materials need to be defeated by monsters, and it is known that monsters will cause injuries. It is better to get rare materials first, and then be injured and pass the next day. Can't you just find all the common materials first and then go fight the monsters? I don't quite understand this logic. The second protagonist had enough energy to open the forum after upgrading the shelter to simple. But after he opened the forum, everyone was sending messages, and some people may not have a shelter, just a framework, so how did they open the forum? Where does he get the energy? Or is this lack of energy only for the protagonist? Furthermore, the upgrade of the shelter is not equivalent to the time flow rate in the forest. This is purely a plot kill, and this logic is created just to set up such a link.
Has no one read such a beautiful book? It's a very novel perspective on survival, so cheers to the author!
