The Heartless Gatha

[Gu Azhang: I've always known what I wanted, and that I'd inevitably have to give something up to get it... There's no need to pity me, much less feel sorry for me... It's not wrong for someone to want to treat themselves well, even better, within the choices available to them. Though you may not agree with me.]

[Two male leads + a protagonist who loves money most of all]

Gu Azhang felt like absolutely nothing had gone right lately. In a fit of frustration, he tossed the socks he'd been washing into the trash can beneath the sink.

He cursed under his breath, then crouched down and fished the white socks out of the bin. They were so old they were nearly falling apart from all the washing. He dropped them back into the basin and started washing them again.

His stomach was growling with hunger.

But he hadn't taken a part-time job since the semester began. Almost all the money he had on him had gone toward tuition and other school fees.

Now he didn't even have two hundred yuan to his name.

Outside the balcony glass door, Gu Azhang bent his head over the socks he was scrubbing.

Inside, the other three were eating an extravagant takeaway meal.

There was no helping it. The other three were rich young masters. Every day, they either ate out or ordered delicious-smelling food. They hardly ever went to the cafeteria.

Gu Azhang figured that if the school didn't require students to live on campus through the end of their junior year, those three would never lower themselves to stay in a dorm.

As he was thinking this, someone pushed open the glass door.
