Dark Journey to the West: I, Old Sun, Slay Buddhas and Tread the Heavens

Reborn for revenge + gods and Buddhas are all evil + ruthless slaughter + master and disciples turn dark + battle for the Three Realms + ultimate plot reversal. No saintly do-gooders, a fast pace, and twists at every turn. The gods and Buddhas are hypocrites, treating all living beings like grass. I’ll forge a heavenly sword from demon bones, slay every false god, and reshape the order of the Three Realms! Breaking away from the traditional Journey to the West trope of redeeming the villains, this story exposes the journey to fetch the scriptures as a conspiracy by the gods and Buddhas to harvest fortune and enslave all living beings. The protagonist awakens from being a pawn and fights his way through the Heavenly Court and Spirit Mountain, leading demons and mortals in rebellion before finally shattering the chains of the Heavenly Dao.
