Winter, the fourteenth year of Jian'an. Liu Bei holds Jingzhou, Sun Quan borrows Jiangling, and Cao Cao retreats to Xiangfan.
At the heart of the three-way struggle, undercurrents surge.
Master Shui Jing, Sima Hui, once assessed the notable figures of Jingxiang, leaving behind an eight-character verdict:
“Wolong and Fengchu; the Northern and Southern Shoots, both worthy sons of Chu.”
Wolong has already joined Xuande, while Fengchu remains hidden in Leiyang.
The Northern Shoot is ill and withdrawn in the mountains, indifferent to worldly affairs.
And the obscure Southern Shoot is now entering Leiyang County with a medicine satchel on his back.
He has come to seek medicine.
His uncle, the Northern Shoot, is gravely ill and needs medicine to restore his health.
By chance, the magistrate of Leiyang is his old friend Pang Tong, whom he has not seen in years.
The Southern Shoot thought this would be nothing more than a long journey to repay a favor.
But when he pushed open the half-ajar back door of Pang Tong’s county yamen, he stepped straight into Jingzhou’s undercurrents.
Leiyang’s powerful clans are secretly colluding with Cao Wei.
Eastern Wu’s tentacles are reaching into southern Jingzhou.
Pang Tong is playing a game of strategy and needs someone he can trust to make a move for him.
By the time a pot of wine was empty, the Southern Shoot had become an unpaid military adviser in the Left General’s residence.
By the time one case was solved, he had become the sharpest hidden blade in Liu Bei’s hand.
From Leiyang to Jiangling, from southern Jingzhou to Xiangfan.
From a hermit seeking medicine for his uncle to a Jingzhou official who makes Cao Wei’s spies tremble at the sound of his name.
In the sixteenth year of Jian'an, Liu Bei enters Shu.
Pang Tong selects his officers, and the Southern Shoot goes with him.
It is a perilous road to Ba and Shu, and also a one-way road to Luofengpo.
The two shared a drink on the journey into Shu. Pang Tong said, “Shiyuan has had only one true confidant in his life: you.”
The Southern Shoot gave no reply. He simply drained his cup.
It's good so far, I'm curious if there's a female lead?
It's pretty good-looking, much better than those with systems to attract beauties. It's just that the update is too slow
It's so comfortable to watch [full] [full]
Okay, can be very good
It seems to be really Three Kingdoms at the moment. Although I haven't read much yet, I can feel that the author still has a certain understanding of the characters. The writing seems to be very sophisticated and the words are solid. I like it.
The writing is very comfortable for old bookworms. It's a bit slow to pick up, and it only started to gain steam after five chapters, but it's really interesting👍🏻
It's pretty cool, but updates are too slow.
At least it's quite realistic in the books I've read so far.
