Reborn in 1960: I Have the World’s Granary System

A wordsmith from the eastern Henan plains.

When I was a child, my grandfather told me about 1960, about the famine that lasted three years, and about digging wild vegetables, chewing tree bark, and spending a night beside a grave just to claim a good spot to dig a well.

He said that in the spring of that year, seventeen people starved to death in the village.

Later, I checked the county records. It was true.

That’s why I want to write this story: about someone reborn in the past, and whether they can change anything.

I don’t know how to write power fantasies. I only know how to write about people scratching a living from the loess, and the years that should never be forgotten.
